Xiaomi Mi5
has been in the limelight for quite some time now and has long being
speculated as housing the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or Helio X20 chipset. The
flagship smartphone has reportedly, one of the benchmark testing
websites where it's been referred to as “Xiaomi Gemini”. The listing
reveals a Qualcomm chipset on board. The Xiaomi Gemini is been listed
with an MSM8996 chipset, which is actually the internal name of
Snapdragon 820. Kevin Wang, IHS Research Director in China, has
confirmed the Xiaomi Mi5 will feature the powerful and most recent
Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, according to a report. The benchmark
site also reveals the flagship device will be shipped with Android 6.0
Marshmallow out of the box. Xiaomi is yet to confirm the same, however. Qualcomm
claims the latest chipset is two times more powerful than the
Snapdragon 810. The 820 ensures a longer battery life and is said to be
30 percent more power efficient. Coupled with the Adreno 530 GPU, the
newest processor will provide 40 percent better performance in computing
and games. The Xiaomi Mi5 is expected to feature a 5.2-inch
display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels protected by Corning
Gorilla Glass 4. The handset could also sport a fingerprint scanner and a
