Xiaomi
has launched Mi TV 3 which succeeds Mi TV 2, that was launched in early
2015. The Mi TV 3 is Xiaomi's effort to build a TV that takes on the
likes of Samsung and LG's UHD TV range. Xiaomi
usually partners with some other manufacturers to provide the
components of the TV and the company integrates them into their designs,
the new Mi TV 3 model features a 70-inch display with 4K (3840 x 2160
pixels) resolution made by Sharp. While the 60-inch model featured a
very slim aluminum frame measuring 11.6 mm at its thinnest, the new
70-inch model is still very slim at 12.9 mm in its thinnest point and
38.6 mm at its thickest, the frame is made from an aluminum alloy. To
achieve this, Xiaomi separates some components from the display, so an
aluminum-built soundbar is included featuring 6 speakers with two dome
tweeters and four 2.5-inch woofers. The soundbar also integrates the
motherboard and all the ports as well, it is connected to the display
using a single Mi Cable. Considering that this is an Mi device
made by Xiaomi, we also get some details about its hardware. According
to the post put out by Xiaomi, the Mi TV 3 70 inch uses Mi TV Bar to
link the display. The Mi Tv Bar is a powerhouse and packs in a MStar
6A928 processor with Cortex- A17 1.4GHz CPU and Mali-760 MP4 GPU. 2GB
DDR3 RAM and 8GB eMMC 5.0 as well. Connectivity options inlcude, Wi-Fi,
Bluetooth 4.1 LE, HDMI 2.0 (3x), Micro-USB, USB 3.0, and Ethernet port.
And just in case you were wondering, the TV also supports plenty of
video formats including H.265 4K at 60 or 30fps. The 70-inch Mi TV
3 costs 9,999 CNY which is about Rs 1,02,000, so it's certainly not
going easy on the customers' wallets. But considering what it brings to
the table, the Mi TV 3 even at this price, but the prices are still a
lot lower when compared to international brands. Source: http://www.xiaomidevice.com/blog/xiaomi-mi-tv-3-with-a-70-inch-4k-display/
