Xiaomi Mi 5c will be unveiled on December 6, just a few days after we first saw its leaked images online. The rumoured date comes from XiaomiDevice that has cited a post on Chinese micro-blogging website, Weibo, talking about the phone’s launch. Another report had claimed December 12 as the launch date. Like the Xiaomi Mi 5s, the Xiaomi Mi 5c will come in 5.2” and 5.5” versions. The specs won’t be quite the same - the Snapdragon 821 is getting swapped out for a 2.2GHz octa-core processor (the memory is still 3GB/64GB) and the camera setup is 12MP main, 8MP selfie.
Xiaomi Mi 5c is expected to be the cheapest device in the Mi 5 series, with the priced leaked to be CNY 999 (approx. Rs 9,890) according to noted leakster, KJuma. This expected price is almost half of the price of the original Xiaomi Mi5, and the Mi 5s Plus.
There have been no official announcement whatsoever about the Mi 5c from Xiaomi yet . For now the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has shown no interest in bringing its recently launched devices like the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, Redmi Pro and the concept edge-less phone, Xiaomi Mi Mix to India. However given the budget pricing Mi 5c might be a smartphone that could make its way to India, but we’ll have to wait and watch till Xiaomi makes the announcement. Source: Xiaomi Mobile
