Huawei only announced the Huawei Mate 9 back in early November, but it has just revealed that the high-end phablet will go on sale in Australia in the first quarter of 2017. Unlike competitor products which largely revolve around Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipsets, the Mate 9 uses Huawei’s own Kirin chips, specifically the Kirin 960. Huawei officially revealed the Mate 9 along with the Mate 9 Porsche Design during a global launch event in Germany on November 4. The Huawei flagship has two other variants that weren’t included during the launch: the Huawei Mate 9 Pro and the Huawei Mate 9 Lite. There’s no word yet if the other three variants will be alongside the regular Mate 9 model when it launches in Australia and the US. The Huawei Mate 8 and Huawei P9 impressed us earlier in the year by combining a decent sense of style alongside very solid battery life and CPU performance, making for an excellent high-end large screened device at a very competitive price. The Huawei Mate 9 is available in six colour options: ceramic white, space grey, black, moonlight silver, champagne gold and mocha brown. The Chinese tech giant has yet to announce the official Australian price of the Mate 9. Its predecessor, the Mate 8, currently goes for $699. Source: GizOK |
