It seems we won’t be getting the ASUS Zenfone 3 Zoom quite as soon as we’d originally thought. In response to someone wondering why the device is yet to be available, ASUS Mobile mentioned that they have had to delay it until Q2 2017. When the ZenFone 3 Zoom was first confirmed, Asus promised a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera with a secondary sensor that could deliver 12x zoom (hence the name), and a massive 5,000mAh battery. However, fans were somewhat disappointed that it would feature a Snapdragon 625 processor, rather than the high-end Snapdragon 821 or the new Snapdragon 835 — which is now making its way into 2017 flagships from the likes of Sony. We could also be getting a 5.5-inch display with a sharper resolution than 1080p. Perhaps the dual optical zoom cameras on the rear aren’t quite up to the standard ASUS wants for their premier camera phone. Or maybe they just want to shuck more storage into the thing. All we know is that the ASUS ZenFone 3 should be better than originally expected in some way when it finally makes its debut during Q2 2017. |
