LIEU Who are we ? ---->

- LIEU is an association "law 1901". It was co-founded by Mister Carl Faia on the 10th of jun in 2002 in Nice.

The activities of LIEU are as follows : Research, creation, production and diffusion of musics associated to new technologies as well as any activities in link with it.

- LIEU is made of :

Carl Faia : Main musical assistant, sound designer in live electronics and composer.

Sébastien Tworowski : Responsible for communication, sound designer in live electronics, composer and musician.

Gérard Délia : Sound engineer and musician.

- Its headmaster is :

Madam FARAUT Nicole

Certified professor in musical education.

What do we do ? ---->

The four main activities of LIEU are : - creation - performances - pedagogy - research

LIEU seeks the new financing for artists who work in the creation of music with new technologies (patronage). It develops the new single forms of expression with the thorough use of technologies in relation to sound art. LIEU develops the new tools for computer creation making connection between researchers, composers, musicians and multi-media artists in general. The association would wish to work in bond with the units of research and creation of the pole Sophia-Antipolis and the area. Pedagogy occupies a place of importance.

LIEU wants to be a place of creation and of musical research but LIEU also wants to be a place of exchange and meeting, a teaching place where the public can be trained and inform itself to new technologies within the contemporary music. This communication, this opening towards the public, can take various forms such as for example :

- Concerts (public or private)

- Master class with the pupils of music schools, colleges and universities

- Conferences with, as guests : composers, instrumentalists, video makers and developers.

- Training courses or courses with music schools

- etc.

Finally, through the digitalization of the musical compositions and the bearing of the technological parts being attached to them on the most recent processing systems, LIEU intends to carry out a work of restoration and safeguard of the inheritance of the electro-acoustic music.

LIEU is located at :

25 rue Fracchia 06000 Nice.

We're also installed at the Hans Hartung and Anna-Eva Bergman Foundation in the city of Antibes.

This is where we realize our works of creation, pedagogy and research as well as our concerts.
