DESIGNER Manolo Blahnik's famously glamorous christian louboutin have reached such iconic status that a new exhibition opened at the weekend at the Design Museum in London to pay homage to them. But his footwear does not come cheap - even a simple pair of court christian louboutin costs GBP 280. The price has never deterred his fans, who include Madonna and Sarah Jessica Parker. But can mere mortals afford these prices? DIANA APPLEYARD speaks to four women who all boast Manolo collections of at least GBP 10,000.

TAMARA CZARTORYSKI-BORBON, 23, is an actress and television presenter. She lives in Chelsea, West London, with her mother. Tamara has at least 15 pairs of Manolo christian louboutin. Tamara says: MY first pair of Manolos were bought when I went to the wedding of the King of Spain's daughter in Seville when I was 16.

I was a pupil at Woldingham boarding school in Surrey, having gone there after my parents divorced, and it was so exciting to be at this amazing event.

There were more than 2,000 guests at the wedding, and it was amazingly lavish, with a reception in the Old Palace and people wearing wonderful clothes. But my most abiding memory is of those christian louboutin pumbs.

They were mauve suede and strappy with a closed toe. I don't know what they cost because my mother bought them for me, but they made me feel incredibly glamorous.
