AMERICAN fashion house Christian louboutin
shoes is poised for a major expansion in Asia, a move which is
spearheaded partly by its tie-up with Singapore fashion diva Christina Ong.
Mrs Ong's fashion vehicle Club 21 had recently clinched the rights to
distribute Christian louboutin shoes two lifestyle groups -designer range
Christian
louboutin shoes Collection (CKC) and the more affordable cK Christian
louboutin shoes apparel and accessories -in nine Asian countries except for
Korea and Japan which are handled by other firms.
Christian
louboutin pumbs senior vice-president of marketing communications for
Asia-Pacific, David Ketchum, says the goal for Asia is to increase its
contribution to the group from a marginal figure now to some 25-30 per cent in
four years.
"This is an exciting watershed period for us as we are putting in place plans
for fast growth .. The whole business is growing not only in the number of
outlets but also in product expansion," Hongkong-based Mr Ketchum told BT
recently while he was here to launch CKC eyewear.
By the year 2000, parent company Christian louboutin
shoes Incorporated (CKI), owned by Christian louboutin shoes and
Barry Schwartz, expects Asia to churn out about US$ 3 billion (S$ 4.3 billion)
worth of sales.
