Your laptop must be one of your most favorite platforms when it comes to your digital enjoyment because it enables you to connect, play and work whenever and wherever you want. This explains the reason why your laptop's battery is very important because it makes it always on the go.
But even with these built in technologies, you still have to be able to plug in before they are ready to go. You would also want to make sure you can save your battery to keep your electricity bills lower. There are also times when you need to stretch your battery life in situations where you need them the most, so here are some tips that can help you extend your laptop's battery life.
1. One of the very first options you can try is the Power & Sleep tab in the System section of the Windows 10 Settings app, according to Field Guide. Have the display switching off and the computer going into standby as early as possible then choose Additional power settings for more options. You can choose between Change plan settings or Create power plan to create a new set up.
2. Disable unused devices and ports, according to PC Mag, because you would not need all of the components in your laptop to function at the same time. You can start by disconnecting peripherals you do not really need like USB mouse or external drive and turning off the ones that consume a lot of your battery including optical drives, Wifi and Bluetooth radios, etc.
3. Adjust your setting in such a way that your power consumption will be reduced, one example is the backlighting of your keyboard. If it is not really that dark, you can turn it off entirely. Your screen brightness can also be adjusted. It does not have to be at maximum screen brightness.

NVIDIA might actually be rolling out both a laptop version of the GTX 1080 and the GTX 1080m after photos of the latter's benchmark results have been leaked.
Earlier reports have claimed that NVIDIA is skipping the GTX 1080m entirely as they will be releasing the GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 instead for laptops just like what they did with the GTX 980. The company has not officially announced anything yet as they could still be busy milking the desktop cards for sales considering the slow restocking.

Mobile versions of desktop GPUs have always been several steps behind due to the compromise in power efficiency and heat dissipation. NVIDIA has tried to overcome that with the GTX 980 card for laptops but it needed to be cooled by a large detachable cooler for it to perform at its peak power.
Chinese site Chiphell has now leaked several photos of what seems to be the system specs of a laptop running Windows 10 with the GTX 1080m, Neowin has learned. There are also photos of the 3DMark FireStrike benchmarks of the mobile Pascal GPU which shows a high graphics score of 16983 and a combined score of 13178 with an Intel Core i7-6100M as the processor.

ASUS teased their fans with a benchmark of their newest ROG notebook's GPU against the GTX 980 Ti, the Radeon R9 295X2 and the GTX Titan X. In total, the new laptop video card scored 20,801 in 3DMark 11.
The company is not confirming that it would be indeed the GTX 1080m but they did say that people can make "educated guesses." Since the new video cards from NVIDIA have been shown to beat the previous generation by more than two times the performance, there would be no doubt that it will be the mobile version of the 1080.
ASUS ROG laptops have been known to be expensive but they really deliver their best in terms of specs with the latest Skylake processors and SSDs. With the cheaper price of the new cards, there is a possibility that the laptops carrying their mobile versions could also be cheaper.
The NVIDIA GTX 1080m was shown to beat the other desktop video cards without even overclocking, TechFrag reported. If the cards were overclocked, the margin of difference between the 1080m and the GTX Titan X could be wider.

In terms of specs, the mobile version of the 1080 would still be less powerful as there would be much needed compromises. Its performance is still top notch as it can beat desktop computers which is rare nowadays.
The GTX 980 was the most powerful laptop solution last year. ASUS ROG laptops with the GTX 1080m would no doubt beat its performance with double the power, Tweaktown has learned.
Comment from discussion Asus ROG teases 1080m (?), announcement at Computex.

NVIDIA's GTX 1080 has a total of 2560 CUDA cores and GDDR5X memory. The mobile version of the card could have fewer cores and just a GDDR5 memory type.
ASUS said that they will be officially unveiling their new ROG laptop line at the Computex 2016 event. Fans will finally know whether it will be the GTX 1080m that can beat the GTX Titan X and the GTX 980 Ti.
NVIDIA is releasing the GTX 1050 Ti and GTX 1050 mobile video cards for laptops. The rollout is just in time as Intel already has their Kaby Lake processors popping up in the mobile gaming systems.
The GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 cards are, without a doubt, the best choice for those who want the most powerful laptop or desktop computer. However, the problem is that they are the most expensive ones especially for the laptop versions.

NVIDIA's GTX 1050 Ti and GTX 1050 laptop video cards may be the answer for customers on a budget. They will be able to play their games with minimal lag and still bring it with them anywhere they go.
The NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti laptop GPU has 768 CUDA cores compared to the 640 in the GTX 1050, AnandTech reported. They are more or less the same as the current GTX 960M video cards in some laptops.
For the core clock, the GTX 1050 Ti rocks 1493MHz while the 1050 has 1354MHz. Overclocking the cards on the laptops are not recommended as NVIDIA already has their GPU Boost technology which takes them to 1620MHz and 1493MHz, respectively.
NVIDIA's GTX 1050 Ti and GTX 1050 cards will be present in several Alienware, MSI, ASUS, HP, Clevo and DELL gaming laptops, PC World has learned. They will be able to play most of today's AAA games but not as well as their bigger brothers.
MOBA games such as "League of Legends," "DOTA 2," "Overwatch" and "Paladins" will run okay on the new laptop video cards from NVIDIA. They would also run considerably cooler as the new Pascal chips are more power efficient.
Gamers will also be able to play other titles at 1080p on medium to high settings, depending on the system requirements. The NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti and GTX 1050 laptop prices start at $700.
Computer hardware companies like Nvidia normally create products for desktop and laptop separately, according to ExtremeTech. For years, Nvidia knows creating a GPU that can fit into a laptop means some features that the desktop counterpart can carry would have to be sacrificed. Thus, the difference between the performance of laptop GPUs and desktop graphic cars are very much noticeable.
